I don't remember the settings. I setup the digital camera on a tripod, shutoff the flash, and turned on the selftimer. This one the ISO was probably set at 100.

Star Gazer

I don't even remember when I first became so interested in the sky. When I was single and working in NYC, I was so busy with a career that I loved and a busy social life, that I don't think I paid much attention - (Aside from a date or two at the NY Planitarium or viewing an eclipse or two, that is).

I think it happened one night as, newly separated with 2 children under the age of 5, I was feeling extremely stressed. Having just put the kids to bed I stepped out onto my porch to take a much needed deep breath. The first thing I noticed when I walked outside was that the moon was full!

Man on the Moon, Future and Past

With two currently functioning orbiters, and five more missions planned in the next year, Earth's Moon may soon have seven active probes operated by five nations, with even more coming soon. NASA's plans to return humans to the Moon by 2020 are moving steadily ahead, with some concrete prototypes and initial designs beginning to emerge. Called the Constellation Program, NASA's vision involves new and upgraded launch vehicles, exploration vehicles, autonomous rovers, new spacesuits, crew and cargo vehicles, and much more.

Solstice Moon Illusion

The full Moon of June 18th is a "solstice moon", coming only two days before the beginning of northern summer.

Strange things happen to the moon??

Dust storms and static discharges oh my! This article came from NASA.... http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2008/17apr_magnetotail.htm?list880574

Beer Commercial on the Moon

Rolling Rock is running ads telling people to go outside on March 21 to watch their logo projected on the Moon with lasers. See: www.moonvertising.com

Note this is a hoax. The lasers needed to bounce off the bare surface of the Moon would need to be too powerful for safe use. (The Moon's albedo is only 12%).
