Montclair State University

Getting to Campus:

The campus of Montclair State University is located at the corner of Valley Road and Normal Ave:
1 Normal Ave., Montclair, NJ. Note that due to ongoing construction on the Route 3/Route 46 interchange there may be changes in your route. The campus can be accessed from either Normal Ave or Clove Road.

Once on Campus:

Visitors can use the Red Hawk Parking Deck or Parking Lot #19. Note please follow all campus parking regulations; fines for parking violations start at $25.

  • Red Hawk Parking Deck: take a ticket at the gate and find a parking space. Take the ticket with you. The parking fee is paid at the machines on floors 2, 4 or 5 when you are ready to leave. Recently they have also added an option to pay with a credit card at the exit gate.
  • Lot 19: metered parking is available on one side of the lot. Lot 19 is located near Blanton Hall. Note you must use the numbered parking spaces near the Student Recreation Center (you can see the exercise machines in the windows). Parking spaces next to Blanton Hall are permit only; use of these could result in a ticket.
  • Parking fees are $4.00 for 2 hours; 2‐4 Hours $8.00.
  • The walk across campus from the parking lots to the CELS building takes several minutes so please plan accordingly.
  • Additional parking info as well as a parking app is available from Parking Services.
  • Meetings and Telescope Nights take place at the Center for Environmental and Life Sciences (CELS). Telescope Nights are held, weather permitting, in front of the building. Meetings are usually held on the first floor in room 110. This is located off the large lounge area at the back of the building. Room 110 is on your left.
