Fall 2019 PUBLIC TELESCOPE NIGHTS
At Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ
WHEN: 8 - 9 PM, Clear Thursdays
September 5 to December 19 (except Thanksgiving, Nov 28)
7:30 pm for kids to see the Moon! 9/5, 9/12, 10/3, 10/10, 11/7 & 12/5
WHERE: In front of the CELS Building east of the Student Center. Visitors can park in the Red Hawk Deck, or in the metered spots in Lot 19 behind Blanton Hall. Parking map: buff.ly/2L9cnrk
TO SEE: Constellations, the Moon, Planets, Star clusters, Double stars, Nebulae, Galaxies, and more!
The Moon will be featured on9/5, 9/12, 10/3, 10/10, 11/7 & 12/5
- · See Jupiter and its moons in Sept, Saturn Sept-mid Oct.
- · See Neptune in Oct-Dec, Uranusin Dec.
- · See the Summer Triangle, Ring and Dumbbell Nebulas
- · See the globular star clusters M13, 15 & 92
- · See the Andromeda galaxy & Perseus double cluster (Oct-Dec.)
Note: Our telescopes cannot see through clouds! Public Telescope Night will be cancelled if the weather is cloudy, cold (< 20oF), or very windy (It is “clear” if you can see the moon or ten stars clearly.) Call 973-594-6524 for a cancellation message.
