All's not as it appears, this tale has many twists -
but if I wasn't here documenting the story
would that mean that the plot did not exist?

NJAG Monthly Meeting

Event Date:
Wed, 04/11/2018 - 8:00pm - 10:00pm

Black HolesThe guest speaker for the April NJAG meeting will be Dr. Rodica Martin, Assistant Professor of Physics, Mathematical Sciences at MSU. She will speak about her research at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO).

Dr. Martin is part of the team which used gravitational waves (ripples in the geometry of space and time) to detect two neutron stars colliding deep in space. These observations resolve long-standing speculation about how heavy elements, such as gold, silver and lead, are produced. She helped to design and install various optical components of an upgrade to the LIGO detectors.

CELS Building Room 110, Montclair State University

Monthly meetings of the NJAG are free and open to the public - all are welcomed. Meetings usually feature a presentation about astronomy or space science by an amateur or professional astronomer.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month (except August); light refreshments will be served. Meeting will be held at Montclair State University in the Center for Environmental and Life Sciences (CELS). This is the relatively new building next to Richardson Hall. NJAG will meet in room 110 on the first floor (this is the room off on the left hand side at the back of the main lobby area). For directions, click on 'Directions' at top of the page.
