April Meeting: Lagrange

The April meeting of the North Jersey Astronomical Group (NJAG) will feature guest speaker Chris Mauro. He will give a presentation “Lagrange and His Points” which features the work of mathematician and astronomer Joseph-Louis Lagrange on the gravitational points of equilibrium we find in space. The recent launch of the Webb telescope brought attention to these Lagrange points. This presentation explores them as well as the life and history of Lagrange’s accomplishments, surviving thru the French Revolution, Reign of Terror and Napoleonic wars.
