Personally, I don't think there's intelligent life on other planets. Why should other planets be any different from this one?

NJAG Meeting - the Golden Meteorite

Event Date:
Tue, 04/14/2026 - 8:30pm - 10:00pm

MeteoriteOur speaker for the April Meeting of NJAG will be Peter Jedicke of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. He will be joining us via Zoom on Tuesday April 14 at 8:30 PM ET to give a presentation “The Story of the Golden Meteorite.”

It sure doesn't look golden, but the story of the Golden meteorite has all the lustre of a pirate's treasure chest. This little space rock was seen over western Canada on 2021-10-03 and fell through a citizen's roof. He'll tell this terrific tale in the context of other amazing meteorite "hammers," and this will also provide some perspective on a recent spate of incidents in a similar vein. Some basic science will also be included in his presentation.

Monthly meetings are held at Montclair State University, in the Center for Environmental and Life Sciences or CELS Building, Room 110. This is located off the large lounge area at the back of the building. Room 110 is on your left. For direction to campus see: https://njastro.org/agx/content/montclair-state-university  Parking is available in the Red Hawk Deck.

This presentation is free, and open to the public. This presentation will also be on Zoom. To register see:
