July NJAG Meeting

Event Date:
Tue, 07/08/2025 - 8:00pm - 10:00pm

PlanetariumThe July meeting of the North Jersey Astronomical Group will take place at the County College of Morris on Tuesday, July 8 at 8:00 p.m. The club will be visiting the Longo Planetarium for a presentation by CCM's astronomer Kevin Conod. This will feature a planetarium show "Messengers of Time and Space" which features the new Vera Rubin Observatory. This summer the Rubin Observatory will begin an astronomical survey that will detect up to 10 million changes in the sky every night, with alerts generated within minutes. The show highlights how the Rubin and Gemini observatories will work together for exciting astronomical events that change with time. Learn how information can reach us through other messengers like cosmic rays, elusive particles called neutrinos, and even gravitational waves rippling through the Universe.

This meeting will take place at the Longo Planetarium at the County College of Morris, 214 Center Grove Rd., Randolph, NJ.
