The Friends of Wallisch Homestead in West Milford, NJ are partnering with the North Jersey Astronomical Group (NJAG) for an evening of Stargazing on Saturday, June 8 at 9:15 PM. This will be the fifth  season NJAG returns to the Homestead. This year we will also have some help from members of the Morris Museum Astronomical Society with their telescopes as well! Viewing conditions at this site is quite good for NJ as there is little light pollution and the view across the valley to Bearfort Mountain is unobstructed by trees. The evening will finish around 11:15 PM.

Weather permitting, NJAG Members will be setting up their own telescopes for viewing by the general public. The first object that will come into view will be the waxing crescent moon as twilight deepens.

After the sky gets dark, a number of star clusters and galaxies will be visible. The evening will round out with Jupiter rising in the southeast after 10:30, with observing ending at 11:15. All are welcome and educators are encouraged to attend.
