Timing Asteroids

Asteroid Occultation

The guest speaker for the February NJAG meeting will be Albert Carcich. His presentation will be Timing Asteroid Occultations to Measure Size and Shape. Albert has been a member of the International Occultation Timing Association (IOTA) since observing his first occultation in 2008. Learn how its done and how you can get involved and contribute to science as well!

Monthly meetings of the NJAG are free and open to the public - all are welcomed. Meetings usually feature a presentation about astronomy or space science by an amateur or professional astronomer.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month (except August); light refreshments will be served. Meeting will be held at Montclair State University in the Center for Environmental and Life Sciences (CELS). This is the relatively new building next to Richardson Hall. NJAG will meet in room 110 on the first floor (this is the room off on the left hand side at the back of the main lobby area). For directions, click on 'Directions' at top of the page.
